Bino Barros on SAPO NOTICIAS
Cape Verdean musician and composer Bino Barros and his band who currently residing in Spain, will perform this week, in the city of Praia and Mindelo, a show presenting the first record artist entitled "Baxu Beach".
Bino Barros, who was recently in the archipelago, will be back to promote his CD, this time, in the promotion of the work, recorded between December 2008 and March 2009, in the Central Art Process studio in the Catalan capital.
"Baxu Beach" is an acoustic, melodic record with a repertoire where traditional island styles such as funaná, batuco and tabanka mix with the beats of West Africa, Brazil and the jazz rhythm with a modern twist.
The album, which is a tribute to the singer's mother, Titina de Lém-Cachorro, considered by the singer to be the great reference in her career, compiles a total of ten songs, among them "Pico, Belém, Santana", "Bino toma ton "" Fidju di tudu krioulo "," Minina Diachi "," Keep "," Kau Mariado ".
The artist will be accompanied by members of the band, with Alan Sousa (percussion and drums), Adriano DD (bass), Marcellus Leone (saxophone and flute), Marcelo Córdoba (guitar) and Valentina Sousa (choirs).
Bino Barros was born in Lém Cachorro, in the city of Praia, and has lived in Barcelona for eight years. He has participated alongside several Cape Verdean musicians in the "Summer 2004" project, highlighting "Pilon" music.
The concerts will be held in the city of Praia on Friday at 9:30 p.m. and in Mindelo on Saturday at 11 p.m.
